Determination of Benefits
EMU provides for varied individual and family needs of employees through a plan of fringe benefits.
A full-time load for an administrator is defined as someone working the normal work days 12 months of the year and who is remunerated from the Administrative Salary Scale.
A full-time load for a faculty member is defined as someone teaching 24 semester hours (SH) for nine months and who is remunerated from the Faculty Salary Scale.
A full-time load for an office and physical plant staff person is defined as someone working 2,080 hours and who is remunerated from the applicable wage schedules.
Fringe benefits are paid in full when workloads equal or exceed these respective levels evaluated on the basis of the institution's 12-month fiscal year:

Employees who are less than .75 FTE annually or temporary employees are not eligible for fringe benefits. Employees who were eligible for benefits on June 30, 2006, have a different eligibility scale. Contact Human Resources for more information.

*Full education discount applies to regular employees employed ¾ time and who have completed two full years of employment. Those with less than two complete years of service are eligible for prorated benefits.
