COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

This course guides the student in understanding the research process and becoming a critical consumer of research. Organizational research concepts are examined in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Students critically read and critique organizational research.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1.       distinguish between qualitative and quantitative research

2.       understand the distinction between basic and applied research

3.       know ways to gather qualitative and quantitative data

4.       learn to summarize and analyze the contents of a scholarly journal article

5.       understand the principles of ethical research

6.       analyze a collection of articles, identifying major themes
