Read about Simple Random Samples starting on Page 207. Notice that one characteristic of an SRS is that everyone in the population of interest should have an equal chance of being selected for the sample. Now think about polls that are carried out via land line phones.

a.       Identify some of the ‘biases’ in this kind of polling.

b.       What groups might not be counted?

c.       How might this ‘bias’ the results of a poll on (for example) opinions about the legalization of recreational marijuana use?
