first (short) week - quick notes

In preparation for next week (happy coding):

- complete the assignment that contains general questions about Java

- decide if you want to use a sophisticated (and heavy) IDE (Integrated Development Environment) such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, or a simpler editor like Dr.Java (this is available in the LB 106) or yet a very simple text editor (notepad++ for Windows or nano for Linux). Whatever you decide make sure you know how to use it. Next Monday I will describe the editor nano as it's available on Linux, very light and basic.

- practice with the Linux shell a bit, as software development is (and has to be) connected with the OS. If you need help establishing VirtualBox or plain Linux let me know I can help you.
